Chiefly snapshots documenting various activities and events pertaining to Beckford's dance career, community involvement and
social life, mostly from the 1990s and 2000s: book signings, award ceremonies, birthday parties, anniversaries, reunions,
ocean cruises, etc. Also includes a few studio portraits of Beckford and her immediate family. Among the identified individuals
depicted are Katherine Dunham, Albert Haynes, Ben Hazard, Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou and Danny Glover. Other subjects include
Oakland's Sigame sculpture by Scott Donahue and the Alice Street mural by Desi Mundo, both of which include references to
Beckford; and Beckford's stained glass window artworks. A small number of photographs are accompanied by related correspondence.
Paintings by Dodge and larger drawing by Hazard are portraits of Beckford. Drawing by Pontiflet is a calendar for the month
of September 2000 alluding to Beckford's physique in the costume of an African dancer. Objects include award trophies, plaques,
a paperweight, and a leather book bag originally owned by Beckford's father Felix and used to store important family papers.
